Success Story — César

One of the reasons I do the work that I do is to motivate and inspire people that managers might not yet see as a person poised to move up at their job site or industry. One such person in whom I saw so much value and potential was César. We worked together and he was able to move from a tutor to supervisor at his job.

Here is César’s experience in his own words:

“A few points of how Mary Claire has helped me.

1) She has taught me by using her personal experience, background, humble beginnings, and how her perseverance propelled her forward so that I can believe in myself.

2) She walked me through the process of how I should go about pursuing a career as a teacher and to not just aim for being a teacher but to shoot further than that.

3) She took a look over my resumé and never stated a correct layout. Instead, she guided me to create a list of my skills, what I have accomplished, my successes—to add everything I have done up until now. Then we could revise and tailor to different jobs.

4) The most important thing she told me is to make sure that I'm okay first. Health-wise, mentally, relationships, family, finances, and to do what helps me to keep on going to keep my sanity.”
